Since it is pride month, I thought it would be fun to end the week on something colorful. French writer and glass artist France Thierard has a great story. in 2011, she moved to Venice. The city inspired her to write a book, Venice as I Love It. She was then further inspired to turn her creative attentions from writing to making her own hand-blown Venetian glass. She calls Venice her muse and an infinite source of inspiration.
Thierard’s pieces are colorful and joyful, just like the artist herself. In fact, her series of striped glasses and beverage serving pieces are aptly named Joyful Stripes. Looking through her social media, she really does seem to be one of the most satisfied people I’ve ever seen. I love that for her!
You can see all of France Thierard’s beautiful Murano glass work on her website and on Instagram and Facebook.

The striped glasses are calling to me! They make me think of the delicious boiled sweeties I used to pick from jars in an old-fashioned candy shop.

That’s it! I knew I was being reminded of something distant. I used to pick them by color rather than flavor, then be disappointed when I ended up with grape or rhubarb rather than root beer.
