7/9/16: By now, you probably know how obsessed with drawn to small things I am – the smaller, the better. So it will come as no surprise that I was immediately captivated by the tiny, fascinating worlds of Kendal Murray.

“The idea of creating these miniature works came from dream states and how we are able to play with our own identity, to play with different roles we take on in our dream state. So the miniature works serve as a metaphor for intuitive thoughts.” -Kendal Murray

I love imagining myself as an inhabitant of these wee worlds. True, I find it a little disorienting that some of the figures crafted on mirrors seem to be admiring themselves, but the disturbance makes them that much more intriguing. I want to shrink myself down so I can ask them what they’re thinking. (Yes, yes, I know they’re not real.)
