When looking at 24-year-old Egyptian photographer Katerina Raed’s work, the first thing you are struck with is her use (or deliberate non-use) of color. I was fortunate enough to stumble upon her work while wandering around DeviantArt.com, and I was immediately captivated. She makes very interesting compositions, and her photography of those compositions is inspired and inspiring.
Her primary themes are color, water, nature, and time, and I love how she ties them together. There’s something truly soothing about her photos that I find unusual in such a young talent.
Though I tried, I couldn’t really find much information about her. I did, however, notice her notes and posts all seem to include a preponderance of rainbows and animated emoticons and hearts. While I would find those things irritating in most situations, it instead struck me as endearing that she’s still something of a little girl on the inside. Good for you, Katerina!
