99% of the time, I find my own OBTs. I have described my process as “dogged perseverance and a pure contrary streak.” However, every so often someone forwards me something so utterly spectacular, so moving, so incredible I can’t ignore it. The glass works of Shayna Leib are such a find. (A big thank you to Jenny Jozwiak for sending me this gem!)
“When I was seven years old, I saw glassblowing for the first time at a local university. We all have an inner pyro, and mine wasn’t the same after that.” – Shayna Leib
Her glasswork, a selection of which is below, is really amazing. However, I was equally moved by her other works. Her jewelry in particular made me salivate. She’s an avid diver, and her underwater photography is stunning, and clearly explains where she gets her inspiration for her glass pieces.
“The ocean has always been a source of inspiration and mystery to me, and it is a lifelong goal of mine to dive all of the earth’s seas.”

Holy WOW that stuff is awesome! I am just flummoxed on how one would buy/transport such things without destroying them… I cannot help but click that jewelry link. 🙂
