Italian artist and photographer Massimo Gammacurta has managed to make Sans Serif new again. He’s sculpted the alphabet in hard candy, and the effect is gorgeous. The pieces look like they are created from colored glass. They incorporate beautiful ombre colors, bubbles, and drips, and they are photographed on a plain white background without any distractions. The overall effect is really lovely. I want to play with them all. Below are a few of my faves.

The letters are reminiscent of another project of Gammacurta’s, wherein he rendered iconic logos in candy, published in his Lolli-Pop Book.
I can remember singing this in the schoolyard as a kid, but I never knew it was a Three Stooges thing until now!
For adults only: Massimo has also explored some less-than-R-rated shapes in sugar as well in his KarmaSugar series.
You can see all of Massimo Gammacurta’s jaw-dropping photos on his website and on Instagram and Facebook.

Beautiful. I wonder if he eats them after the picture?

Need another, less hetero centric version of KarmaSugar. Think he takes suggestions?

A little too drippy for me, but certainly colorful. I absolutely love the video. I may find a spot for that on Ram On.

The video is kind of great, isn’t it? The look on my brother’s face as the video rang a distant bell was perfect!
