Prisma Guitars
22-year-old industrial designer, guitarist, and skateboarder Nick Pourfard has found an ingenious way to combine all his interests into some really beautiful objects. He takes old, unusable skateboards and combines them to create amazing, one-of-a-kind guitars. His designs seem really organic, as if the colors occurred naturally in the wood. He calls the line Prisma Guitars, and they are already considered highly-collectible by guitar enthusiasts the world over.
Recently, Pourfard had the opportunity to custom-make a guitar for Iron Maiden.
“I took every detail of his playing style and aesthetic into consideration. The bass has an off-white painted alder back with skate top featuring colors as close to West Ham as possible. I laser cut a custom mirror pickguard and bound the whole body in black and white to pay homage to his classic original bass.”
These things are so desirable, they make me want to pick up the guitar again! If you’re in the San Francisco area and have skateboards to donate, you can arrange for a pickup here.

I have a number of skateboards my son went through in his teens and early 20’s. I’d be glad to donate them if he’ll pay shipping and donate 10 full tubes of oil paint to me. Send email for list of colors I need.

You should go on his website and send him a message. I don’t know him, I just wrote about his work.

Aren’t they beautiful? I want them to make me a jewelry box of old skateboards.
