Zack Dougherty (A.K.A. Hateplow) takes HD photos of statues and other 3D objects, then he turns them into animated GIFs of the highest order. Like the animation of DarkAngelØne, his GIFs add movement to static pieces, but unlike the other artist’s work, Dougherty creates entirely new elements which are revealed either under the original or in front of it. Many of the sculptures have been relocated (digitally, of course) in incongruous places by Dougherty as well. I find the overall effect of these pieces really interesting and compelling.
