Killien Hyunh
Vietnamese illustrator and graphic designer Killien Hyunh makes the most adorable hateful hand-painted cards I’ve ever seen! Bestie and I could really go to town with these things. Hyunh calls the series Postcards for Your Enemies, and I need every single one of them!
I wasn’t able to find out anything more about the artist, so her adorable animals will have to speak for her. To quote Hyunh, “Who knew animals could be so cruel?”

They are genius not just because of how they cut through the saccharine of the usual greetings card but also because of the interplay between the adorable imagery and the snark of the sentiment.

I feel sad for anyone to project hate so creatively. Sending them into a world so desperately in need of kindness and compassion, just sounds so cruel. Cruel to those receiving them and damaging to the heart of the sender. Hurtful words are said to be a desperate expression of an unmet need. Maybe it would be more helpful to express what we need in a way that makes it the most easy thing to the hearer, the reader…
Peaceful thoughts wished your way.

I understand your perspective, but I think there’s room in the world for crabby humor, too. Have a good day, and thanks for commenting!

I’m such a hideous person. I want to buy all these cards and send them. Some in jest and some with intent!

You’re not hideous, you’re fabulous, and you know it! Hope you are well.

You know there is room for crabby humour, as long as people can see the line not to cross:
One side is writing the card out ][ T’other side would be sending it

That’s certainly where the line is for me.

I’ve got some people I could send them to–do you think they could do some custom printing? Do you think they’d mind some bad four letter words?

They seem very comfortable with four-letter words. I suspect you and they (and I) would get along famously.

Ha! I don’t think I’d have the spinal fortitude to actually deliver one of these (considering the most likely recipients would be colleagues) but I dearly love musing about the possibilities!

I’m not sending them, either, but it’s a comfort to know they’re there!

I love that word “snark”. Have you read ‘Hunting of the Snark’ yet? Here’s a link if not beloved, enjoy:
