What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Going Organic

Rick Eggert

Rick Eggert

Wandering the internet late one night, I stumbled across the beautiful, organic-looking piece above and audibly whooped with joy (waking Beloved, who was slightly less joyous). The work of glass artist Rick Eggert, the piece is part of a series called “Dynamic Cosmos,” which is filled with graceful glass forms, artfully placed together to show off their beautiful ombre colors. The pieces are unlike anything I’ve ever seen, and they are grouped into categories including Herd and Cloves and Waves and Flames and Grass. I’m not exaggerating when I say that paging through this prolific artist’s work gave me a deep sense of peace and joy. It was nearly impossible to decide which of his glorious pieces to include in this post, so I strongly recommend you go to his portfolio and feast your eyes.

A former native of New York and Vermont, Eggert now lives in Florida, where he is the creative genius behind the fantastic Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts, another in a long list of places I absolutely must get to some day!

  1. Absolutely gorgeous. One longs for the day glass sculpture wouldn’t be asking for a great story about the puppy…..
