*Perversely, my brain keeps correcting that to “The girl with colitis goes by.”

Olga Zelinskaya

The paintings of Georgian artist Olga Zelinskaya caught my eye when I was wandering around the internet one night looking for interesting portraits of women. I was absolutely stopped dead by her modern take on Klimt-like use of geometrics and patterns. There’s something very Art Nouveau about her representations of women, all who seem regal and powerful while retaining their femininity.

I wasn’t able to find out very much about the artist, but I’m definitely going to keep my eye out for more of her work!

All images property of Olga Zelinskaya.

  3. These are wonderful. There’s a folk art feeling to them combined with that whole fin de siecle feel of Klimt and Mucha. I love the minimalist faces combined with all of that pattern. Inspirational.

  6. Dear Donna, I accidentally found a picture in your post! Thanks for posting, thanks for your feedback, I am happy that my works you liked it! Only one inaccuracy – the girl on the horse is not mine. I’m not hiding, I’m on Facebook, can I add – and learn about my new paintings and life! Kind regards, Olga Zelinska
