Summer Skewered

We love to grill. In fact, we designed our outdoor space so that we could access our grill all year. But there’s something about summer that makes me extra interested in grilled recipes, and one of my favorite things to do on the grill is skewers. If you can get the right combination of ingredients (and cooking times), you can have an entire meal on a stick. That really appeals to me, both as a host and as a guest.

Beloved and I are going to be making most of these recipes over the summer, so please comment if you have tried any of them. I’d love to hear what you think!

  1. After I move I am not going to have a grill. But I got one now and I am going to try a couple of these. Guess I have never had many of these. I did not care for the ones I had. There is always a grill at my son’s house and he will be just a short distance away. I don’t eat onions or peppers, unless they are in Gumbo. Hal

  2. A lot of work for one and food has just become a problem around here. I will keep this in mind …just in case.

  3. I love to cook skewers on the grill too. I don’t know why I have never thought to cook brussel sprouts that way so that is definitely going on my list and my mind is blown by the idea of cooking gnocchi on a skewer so I am definitely going to do that too.

  4. I envy you people who grill in the summer! The food magazines are always filled with it . . . but it’s been 100 degrees plus here for weeks and will be for the foreseeable future. Outside is awful. Please have a shrimp kabob for me!
