Film director, photographer, and sculptor with humans Rob Woodcox is a deeply interesting guy. Splitting his time between Mexico and the U.S., the artist’s vision is dedicated to advocacy. His work centers around the causes that have touched him including the U.S. foster system, adoption, queer identity, racial equality and environmental justice. The artist has worked with many of the most sought-after brands of our age including Apple, Adobe, Universal Pictures, Capitol Records, and many, many others, and his most recent short film, Honey to the Moon, may very well be nominated for an Oscar.
Woodcox’s photography often involves him creating living sculptures with nude (or near-nude) human bodies, and his imagination knows no bounds. I find these photos so moving and fascinating. Most of his poses are managed practically on set without post-production tricks, and they’re a true testament to the artist’s creativity and the physical prowess of his subjects.

Amazing! He truly is a sculptor using the human body as his medium. But every aspect is beautifully controlled, not just the positioning of the figures within the overall form, but also the handling of light and shadow and the placement within the wider context to create the composition. Impressive stuff.
