What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Architect of Visual Dreams

Kathrin Federer

Today’s amazing artist is another great find by Alison and Don of Adventures in Wonderland. Keep ’em coming!

The works by Swiss photographer/editor Kathrin Federer are moving and incredibly impactful. She takes striking images that she then manipulates to increase the drama. She calls herself an architect of visual dreams, and I think that’s a very apt term. Her images do seem like they’re straight out of the subconscious.

Federer is also very generous with her extensive knowledge of photography and Photoshop, and her YouTube channel is full of tutorials, hacks, and insider tips. I always find artists who are free with their advice to be extra compelling.

You can see all of Kathrin Federer’s amazing photos on her website and on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

The images are stunning. I appreciate that the manipulation of the images is still sympathetic to the original subject and in many ways makes its colours, textures and shapes more emphatic by eradicating clutter and focusing the eye. They really do seem like something out of a dreamscape or beautiful images in a story book.
