However complicated my relationship with religion may be, I still love, love, love a good Christmas music performance, and today, I’ve got something really special for you. This is one of my idols, Leslie Odom Jr., singing The First Noel with the PS22 Chorus. It gets me every time, and I’ve played it many, MANY times.
PS 22 is a public school in Staten Island, NY, and the fifth graders that participate in the chorus have met and performed with some seriously amazing artists including Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Oprah, Amy Poehler, Jimmy Kimmel, John Legend, Ann Hathaway, Beyonce, Kristen Chenoweth, Carrie Underwood, and many others. Their director Gregg Breinberg has built an incredible organization.

I think you were the person who introduced me to PS 22 Chorus many years ago. I taught elementary general music and chorus, and I will testify that Mr. B is an outstanding teacher. He helps the children sing with such emotion and musicality. He relates so beautifully with children and motivates them to be not just good but excellent.

The PS22 choir does bring out all the feels. Great job Mr. B! An elementary school in Austin has a choir that often performs Grateful Dead songs with hand gestures similar to PS22!
