Kayleigh Andrews/Kookiwood

To say Kayleigh Andrews give new life to antique and vintage furniture is a gross understatement. She takes old, tired, relatively plain furniture and gives it a makeover so profound you’d never believe it was the same piece. She makes me wish we hadn’t gotten rid of our antique flea market bedroom furniture. Those pieces would have been very good candidates for a glowup! Andrews calls her company Kookiwood, but I feel like that misses the mark. What she does is so unspeakably gorgeous, I kind of wish it had a name with more gravitas. Names aside, she seems to do a brisk bespoke business and have no shortage of projects and clients. I just want to go to London and learn how to do what she does. There are a number of before and after reveals on her Instagram, and I’m really enjoying binge-watching them!

Andrews has an amazing sense of what designs will bring out the best features in a piece of furniture. It’s almost like a magic trick. What starts as an okay-but-ho-hum piece ends up a showstopping signature piece that would be the pride of any collection, no matter how fine. I want to be her when I grow up.

You can see all of the gorgeous upcycled pieces by Kayleigh Andrews on the Kookiwood website and on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

Note: Because I still haven’t sorted out my Instagram embeds in WordPress, I have resisted the urge to link to every gorgeous thing she’s posted and instead included below a few YouTube shorts she published. However, I STRONGLY recommend you check out her Instagram for a shockingly-vast collection of gloriously upcycled furniture.

Ms. Andrew is wildly talented and creative. These pieces are lovely transformations and I’m following her Insta now. Perhaps I’ll find inspiration for my mother’s midcentury bedroom set.

The outside is beautiful but the wallpaper designs she uses inside are gorgeous, also.

I love all of the transformations you’ve selected for this post and I also had a gander at her Instagram. I love the shapes of furniture from that era so I am happy to see them being given a new lease of life with a style makeover that is fresh and modern but in keeping with the vibe of the period too.
