This Valentine’s Day, I decided to dedicate the post to… wigs! Here are my reasons:

1. The whole world is throwing pink hearts at us today, and I hate to be predictable
2. Some of my favorite people in the world are single
3. I am fortunate enough to have love in my life, so I don’t need to shout it from the rooftops once per year
4. I LOVE WIGS!

If you’re interested in costuming, I’m sure you’re going to love the West Yorkshire-based Tam Walsh Studios. They specialize in made-to-measure hard cap (structural) wigs and head props, and their work is positively mind-blowing. These super-dramatic wigs are primarily used in theater and window displays, but I’m absolutely certain I’ve seen a few at various drag events and parades as well.

A self-described wig geek, the lovely Tam also offers two 20-person 5-day workshops per year in “how you can build a wig pretty much without limits.” Oh, how I long to sign up!
