Today, we’re checking out New York City-based artist/architect/author Thomas Wells Schaller. When I learned that Schaller is an architect, I wasn’t at all surprised. His architectural drawings and watercolors seem straight out of my memories. His understanding of proportions and perspective is just amazing. I’ve never seen watercolors that make me feel more like I was there. What an amazing talent!
His representations of architecture are wonderful, but it’s his remarkable capturing of the mood and the texture of his subjects that most enthralls me. Schaller offers many watercolor tutorials on his YouTube channel, and the time-lapse videos of his paintings are peaceful and fascinating.
You can follow Thomas Schaller on his website and on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and his Gallery 71 page.

Beautiful handling of light and shade and fantastic building of layers. I love watching people paint. I find it to be very relaxing and satisfying.

Me, too! (And so much less messy than doing it myself!)

Blocked again. How many user names do you have, anyway? For my real readers, this guy posts the exact same comment using different names but linking to the same website every time. It’s either a bot or someone lacking in creativity. Either way, it’s a nope.
