Ben Taggart of BT Model Houses creates glorious, perfect 1:50 scale replicas of buildings, often contained in a shadowbox frame. These handmade models would make the absolute perfect gift for new homeowners. It takes Taggart weeks, or even months to complete each project, thanks to their faithfully- and lovingly-created architectural details.
After studying model animation and filmmaking in the late 1980s, Taggart worked as a modelmaker with Jerry Judah Studio, whose clients included BBC1 and BBC2, Channel 4, and many others. By 1994, he had struck out on his own, making bespoke models of listed buildings and heritage projects.
You can see all of Ben Taggart’s beautiful art on the BT Model House website and on Instagram and Facebook.

I adore these! Of course, it surely helps that the architecture that has inspired each piece is inherently interesting – not like the grey box I grew up in, for instance – but the precision and the creation of visual textures is really aesthetically pleasing.

The subjects definitely help. Someone offered to make us a painting of our little house, but it’s so unprepossessing from the outside, there’d be no point.
