Today, I am beyond thrilled to bring to you the 2026 Dog Photography Awards! I had no idea this was a thing, so I’m doubly excited. The competition is open to amateur and professional (adult) photographers around the world, and the submissions they receive are nothing short of marvelous. I honestly had the best time scrolling through this year’s winners, and I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did. The contest’s aim is to “celebrate the artistry of top dog photographers, uncover emerging talents, and showcase the extraordinary diversity and charm of dogs.”
This year’s overall winner is the first photo below by Katie Brockman. It’s a poignant studio photo of a bully breed dog wearing accessories made of pitbull-related newspaper headlines. The photographer had this to say about her work.
“For this image, I wanted to convey society’s complicated relationship with pitbulls and bully breeds. The collar and chain represent breed bans, restrictions, and other ways pitbulls are punished simply for existing, while the crown and gentle hand represent the advocates who support and love the breed. Meanwhile, the dogs themselves are caught in the middle between the two sides.”
I’ve only included a few of my favorites below, but I really recommend you go check out the website to see all the winners since the competition began in 2021.
You can see all of the Dog Photography Awards amazing photos on their website and on Instagram and Facebook.
