Self-taught painter Teddi Parker creates art around subjects which seem to be chosen at random, but no matter how diverse the objects, her work is all distinctively hers. She has a wonderful, loose way of painting and a somewhat softened palette that I strongly admire. All her canvases are just 8″ square, which makes them even more appealing to me!
“When deciding what to paint, it’s usually whatever I bought at the grocery store that week, or whatever’s growing in the garden, or treasures I find at the thrift store… it’s kind of random, but I have to be excited about it, or I won’t want to paint it.”
You can see all of Teddi Parker’s wonderful works in her Daily Paintworks online gallery and on Instagram.

I like the chunkiness of the way the artist paints and I think they have particular skill with rendering reflections and sheen.

It seems like Parker really enjoys painting reflective surfaces. So interesting!
