Today, we’re looking at the work of child photographer and lighting superstar Meg Loeks. When I first saw the glorious photography by Meg Loeks, I nearly categorized her work as a Halloween-related post. Her signature colors are definitively Autumnal – oranges, greens, yellows, and denim blues. She’s also taken many photos of children in Halloween costumes. However, palette and costume photos aside, it’s Loeks’s amazing ability to capture her children’s personalities (while getting them to stay still) that really blew me away. I’d love to see behind-the-scenes video of how she gets her tow-headed brood to connect so intensely with the camera!
One of her kids, Leo, was diagnosed with leukemia when he was in kindergarten. Thank heaven, the tyke has been in remission for a couple of years now, but the experience left Loek with a deep understanding of and compassion for families dealing with childhood cancers. Though she only posts photos of her own family, Loek is also a volunteer photographer for The Gold Hope Project, a nonprofit organization which gifts families battling pediatric cancer a free photo session.
You can see all of Meg Loeks’s magnificent photos on her website and on Instagram and Facebook. You can learn more about The Gold Hope Project on their website and on Instagram.

It must be so lovely to be able to capture photos of your own family like these. I wonder if the kids know how good they have it. My childhood photos look like they were taken with a potato.
