What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Piano Music for the Eyes

Rousseau Musique

Classically-trained pianist and video artist Rousseau makes the most fascinating videos of themself playing very complex classical pieces accompanied by what they refer to as a reactive visualizer. The key-by-key visuals make the music, which I already loved, even more enjoyable. I love being able to see what’s coming and guessing which hand is playing which part (far from an easy task, especially for a non-piano-player like me). Many of the pieces posted are mind-bogglingly complicated and an absolute joy to watch.

I found watching the videos on a large screen with no other distractions (phone, lights, etc.) instantly made me feel calm and engaged. I’ll take calm wherever I can find it these days…

You can check out all of Rousseau’s wonderful piano videos on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

The visualisations are really soothing for the brain, aren’t they? My youngest is teaching himself piano (well, keyboard) and insists on not having actual lessons. I am sharing these videos with him as they are like an advanced and aesthetically pleasing version of tutorials he is using.
