1/28/17: Brace yourself. This is going to be a rough one…

…to resist!

It all started when this heartbreaker of a grey seal pup was posted on the Smithsonian’s National Zoo social media. One of their Twitter followers, Virginian Sarah Hill, challenged the Virginia Aquarium to post something cuter. After a few rounds of back-to-back animal adorables, the Bronx Zoo jumped in, tagging seven other U.S. zoos, too. Once the hashtag #cuteanimaltweetoff went viral, zoos and aquariums from around the world started to compete. The resulting all-out Twitter war is the best thing I’ve seen in months.

And the good news is it’s still going on! If you need me today, I’ll be right here #cuteanimaltweetoff! Whatever your political leanings, this is something I think we can all agree upon. That’s certainly a cause for celebration!
