Glass artist Carolyne Heppenstall, A.K.A. Lumie Glass, creates gorgeous hanging pieces with which I’m a little obsessed. They can be used as either window or wall decorations, and I think their deceptively-simple designs would flatter any room. Heppenstall has a real knack for blending colors and textures and balancing shapes in a way that feels very organic but also very new. Each piece of glass is hung from a brass bar with linen cord, and every completed piece is one-of-a-kind. Some groupings are giving me an Art Deco vibe, and some feel more Asian-influenced to me, but I find them all just wonderful.
You can see all of Lumie Glass’s glorious work on their website and on Instagram.

They really are! If our ceilings weren’t so low, I’d be very tempted.

We think of our house as short but sweet.

These are all so fabulous! I love glass anyway but these pieces combine the concepts of stained glass and chandeliers and wall art so successfully. The artist really uses the transparency of the medium so effectively in the way the forms are layered. I would love to own any one of these pieces.

I would, too! We have a beloved piece of stained glass hanging in my home office window, and the dratted cat likes to bat it against the regular window when we’re not paying enough attention to her. I’m afraid the little shit would reduce one of these to smithereens.

I could totally see one of my cats doing the same!
