Irony

I try not to publish posts that are full of superlatives, but I’m having a hard time resisting today. There isn’t too much known about U.K. street artist Irony, A.K.A. WhoAmIrony, but I can tell you he is a legitimately phenomenal artist. It is hard to believe that anyone, no matter how skilled, can create paintings this complex and realistic using just spray paints, but Irony does it. His portraits, especially of women, are truly exceptional, his depictions of animals are crazy believable, and his sense of humor is undeniable.

Like so many street artists I’ve profiled, Irony is entirely self-taught, and that too blows me away. What unbelievable natural talent there is in this world! He lists his tools of the trade as “a can of spray paint and a misguided sense of adventure.” It’s certainly working for him!

You can follow Irony on their TikTok, Instagram, DeviantArt, and Facebook.

Wow! That pigeon is absolutely wonderful. I really appreciate how this artist makes full use of the space and form of the surface available to them when deciding on a composition. All of the murals are fabulous. I am going to check out their Instagram now.
