In Riga, Latvia, there is a magical workshop that produces the most delicious embroidered book clutch purses. The maker(s?) go by the name of VR Storybook, and whoever they are, I am in awe of their talent. These clutches, made from actual book covers, are truly lovely and all one-of-a-kind! The books are covered in velvet, linen, leather, or canvas, all embroidered with silk thread, and the linings are all Indian silk. I would wash my hands 1,000 times per night if I were carrying one of these precious objects.
These are so gorgeous and instantly-recognizable, I think they should do an endangered book series. I’m sure they’d sell fast!
You can see all of VR Storybook’s charming wares on their website and on Instagram, Etsy, and Facebook.

These are really lovely. I rarely have use for a small purse but these appeal because I am a book nerd and the embroidery is exquisitely perfect and they look so invitingly tactile.

I agree! I had the feeling if I carried one, I’d spend the evening petting it.

Were it not for the endlessly-creative human race, I would have very little to talk about!

These purses are way too small for all the junk I carry around but…boy are they gorgeous!

I could only get away with something that diminutive as an evening bag, but it would probably be on display the rest of the time!
