Ho Chi Minh artist Hoàng Hoàng creates glorious insect illustrations that are both stylish and scientifically accurate. The artist’s use of geometric shapes and careful application of subtle color turn these humble creatures into works of art. His posters include the Vietnamese and English common names along with the scientific names of each of his buggy subjects. I find them all truly lovely (even if I’m not necessarily a fan of the real thing…)

These are absolutely fabulous! I am a big fan of mini-beasts anyway but the use of shapes and colours means the aesthetic of those portraits is very appealing to me. I am going to follow the link you provided to check out more of the artist’s work.

Very interesting artist. I like all their illustrations, but it’s the creepy crawlies to which I’m most drawn.
