Larkin Poe is the name that sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell gave their band in honor of a long-dead relative. In fact, it’s named after their great-great-great-great-grandfather, Larkin Poe, a cousin of Edgar Allan Poe! The duo have been making beautiful music together since early childhood, and all that performing together has truly paid off. They sound like they were meant to sing together. No wonder they’re Grammy winners!
Larkin Poe have been called the new face of gutsy blues rock, and when you give them a listen, the reasons are abundantly clear. They’re starting to do originals, but their deep bench of covers are what really get to me. While their covers are instantly recognizable, their particular spin on everything they perform is a true joy. Their pared-down self accompaniment of just an acoustic guitar and a slide guitar is just exactly right.
You can follow Larkin Poe on their website and on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
