As you can imagine, my social media algorithms are all over the place, but when Instagram delivered me the glorious, retro-feeling, dare I say ladylike gowns by UK designer Richard Quinn, I was immediately charmed. My mother would have loved them, and though our tastes often diverged when it came to fashion, I am in love with them too! Most of them feel like very high-end 1950s formalwear, and if I had a waist, I’d be all over them.
Quinn’s earlier collections also featured quite a few references to 1960’s high fashion silhouettes, which are cute as well. I prefer the more recent collections. his Fall/Winter 2025/26 runway show is below, followed by some images of earlier work that I also enjoyed.
You can follow Richard Quinn on his website and Instagram.

These designs seem to harken back to an era of fashion I really enjoy (the 1950s), specifically they reminded me of the work of Christian Dior.

Yes! I’m getting Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris (which, if you haven’t seen, is a pure delight)

I have not seen it and had actually forgotten it existed. I should watch it some time.

I’m jealous that you get to watch it for the first time.
