London-based choreographer and performer Dean Lee is today’s utterly beautiful thing, and his videos and style are just fabulous. He has choreographed for some of the most iconic performers including Janet Jackson, the Pussycat Dolls, and Eve. And his dance troupe, SHAPEHAUS Dance Theatre, aims to “fill the void within the dance company roster.” Lee designs all his performer’s costumes, combining his passion for both dance and fashion. His dance performances are like a fashion fever dream.
In connection with Mushroom Studios, Lee spearheaded a film called Dance for Your Life, all about the audition process for SHAPEHAUS Dance Theatre. The film is an offshoot of the popular Australian reality series Dance Life (which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime). The movie is playing in selected theaters now, and I clearly need to go find it!
