Peruvian artist Cecilia Paredes is known for her self portraits, even though in those works, she seems to be trying to make herself disappear.

She uses commercially-produced wallpaper as her background, then employing body paint, fabric, and sometimes paper, she makes her body blend almost seamlessly into the wallpaper.

The wallpapers she chooses are big and bold and, to my taste at least, way too much to live with, but as part of her art, they’re really quite lovely. If you’re a fan of Where’s Waldo? and Hidden Pictures from Highlights Magazine, then this will no doubt appeal to you, too!

I hope she has shares in MAC. Those images are phenomenal.

Looking at these photos, I couldn’t help but think of that moment in the movie Garden State when the son is in the washroom and he notices the pattern on his shirt. Both the movie and these photos are brilliant.
