Spanish illustrator Elga Fernancez Lamas is a wiz at combining her love of fashion and her whimsical illustration style in ways I never would have thought were possible. She (adorably) refers to her illustrations as her imaginary friends, and it’s not clear to me whether the fashion labels have started paying her for her work. If they haven’t, they should. She makes even avante-garde fashion seem accessible. Have a look.

Oooh! I’m in love! How utterly spectacular! (Notice I didn’t use fantastic once in this comment?) You’ve made the start of my week. Thank you, my friend.

P.S. (because how can I not say more? You are *shining* today.) I want her to print some of her work on t-shirts or messenger bags. I would gobble up several!

I don’t want to wear her work. I want to be one of her drawings. Can I escape into her world?

You can try! She was kind enough to comment on the post. Maybe you can get her to draw you!

By the way, I’ve noticed a number of very stylishly dressed women on the streets of Austin (better know for its embrace of slacker casual).
