My Mind is In the Toilet

“Excuse me, agate go to the bathroom.”
You’re welcome.

We share our island with the corporate headquarters of Call-a-Head Corp., the “We’re number 1 at number 2” people. So suffice to say we spend some time thinking about bathroomy stuff.

Today’s post is about having fun in the bathroom. No, not THAT. This is a family show. I mean that today, we take a look at fun bathroom designs. This one is all about lovable loos, bodacious baths, and whimsical water cabinets.

First up, the pinup bath. These tiles are handmade from the pinup art of Gil Elvgren, one of my illustration heroes! While they are typically used as coasters or magnets, you can easily re-purpose them to cover your walls.

Mermaid!!!

I’m not sure I’m on board with the zebra vanity chair, but the framed album covers on the wall are a spectacular idea!

This one is great in theory, but I’m not sure I could be comfortable with Albert making that face at me while I’m on the toilet.

I’m not the biggest fan of wallpaper, but this paper filled with Victorian advertisement illustrations is oddly compelling. Again, it’s a lot of disapproval to endure first thing in the morning, but at least no one is giving me the raspberry.

If you have to have faces staring at you from your bathroom walls, this seems like a much more positive way to start the day!

“No peen off the porch.” I’m assuming this is at a rest stop somewhere.

This is reminding me of Gaudi for some reason. I’m a sucker for a good tile mural!

I love how butch this is. Really interesting use of old license plates! (Liz, this one’s for you!)

I could see this being very effective as a ladies room in a restaurant, but I suspect you’d get a little tired of the headless ladies if you had to live with them.

Costco much?

Costco much?

Look, it's the little buoy's room! (Sorry, I just cannot seem to stop with the bad jokes today.) (Who am I kidding? I'm not sorry.)

I love aquatic-themed junk, and it’s a real struggle for me to resist overdoing the themey stuff in our tiny house by the water. But if you put together water AND retro, I’m powerless to resist!

More aquatic cutesy stuff. This is a little too precious for me, but it would make the perfect beach house half bath.

I used to say that if you painted a turd Wedgewood blue and white, I’d buy it. Between the colors and the beadboard, I’m hooked!

Completely adorable. No storage, but charming nonetheless.

Stylish steampunky bath. I assume much pretentious hipster beard grooming goes on in there (but I like it anyway)
