Emilio Dosal and Kelsey Landers absolutely kill it with their choreography to the Boyce Avenue cover of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.” Normally, I’d wait until later in the day to post this, but it suits my mood so perfectly, I couldn’t resist.
Enjoy.
In case that’s not enough for you (as it wasn’t for me), here’s their other beautiful piece, set to another of Sam Smith’s songs, “Lay Me Down.”
I can’t seem to find out very much about Kelsey Landers except that she was Miss Dance of PA 2009 (how cute is that?), but man, is this girl talented! She has a mostly empty YouTube channel, but I’m hoping she will fill it with more of her beautiful work soon. In the meantime, a search for her name in YouTube turns up all sorts of wonderful stuff. She’s certainly one to watch.
Emilio Dosal, on the other hand, is pretty prolific, at least on YouTube. He has about 20 really interesting and entertaining videos on his channel, and there’s all sorts of good stuff to be found on the internet as well. He was a contestant in Season 11 of “So You Think You Can Dance,” and his hip-hop skills are off the charts.
I think it’s really interesting that Emilio, whose style is so rooted in hip-hop, would have the (genius) instinct to pair up with someone like Kelsey whose roots are more in the contemporary/lyrical style. The combination is so very powerful, I’m sure it will stay with me (see what I did there?) for a long time to come.

Not sure what I like more the tune, choreography or the room. Beautiful.

Hey, Donna. I just discovered the dance videos you posted. When I started my blog I envisioned posting these kinds of videos. Can’t get enough of great, expressive dance. Thanks.

Dance is one of the arts that I love but have very little knowledge of. That lack of knowledge inhibits me from posting videos. The fear that something I like might be considered fundamentally flawed by those with more knowledge of the art. Yes, I should get over all of that.

I know nothin’ about nothin’. And that doesn’t stop me! If you’re not setting yourself up as an expert, then why shouldn’t you share your opinions? You still like what you like. Share that.
