It’s spring! It’s spring! I thought we deserved something colorful (even if it is snowing out, damnit!)
Photographer Dan Cretu creates colorful everyday objects mainly out of real fruits, vegetables, and other edibles, and he does it all without the aid of Photoshop or other digital manipulation. He needs to work fast, however, because of the fragile nature of his materials, so he endeavors to complete each project from start to finish in only four hours. Talk about pressure. You can just imagine how much the fruit flies must love him!

Of course! The Italian painter. I hadn’t thought of him in ages, but you’re right, there is a connection. Especially the potato torso.

They are inspiring me to go get a bag of oranges. As usual, I’ll eat maybe two of them and the rest will become a fruit fly farm, but they sure are cheerful!

Ha Ha! That’s what I usually do with with oranges, just end up eating a couple. I shall be looking for your wonderful artwork with the peel then!

Whimsical and exuberant – it snowed here too and this made the gloom go away at least for a moment. Fun!

P.S. There is something about this aesthetic harken the 70s but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Am I alone here?
