Berlin-based tattoo artist, Chaim Machlev, creates stunning abstract geometric designs comprised of ribbons and lines that follow the contours of the body like some kind of 3-D mapping. They remind me so much of the hypnotic shapes I used to make with my Spirograph. I played with that thing for years. Maybe it was one of his favorite toys, too.

I am not sure about these. I can see the resemblance to the Spirograph pictures of old though. Although they are intricate, they are just not pretty enough for my liking!!

Understood. I was, however, fascinated with their precision!

Maybe. At least they’d age interestingly!

Hmmm…. Spirograph. Maybe I need to buy myself, err I mean my little person, a new box of Spirograph. Those tattoos also remind me of Escher.

Ooh, yes! I hadn’t thought of that! (I’m talking about Escher. I totally bought myself a Spirograph!)

Ooh! Loved Spirograph too – think I still have mine in the loft, will have to look it out. See the Escher link as well.

These don’t look real – they almost seem to be popping off of the people, rather than on them (even though I know this isn’t the case). But they are cool!

I was thinking they were awfully crisp, too. Maybe they’re just new.

YES! I am totally freaked out by the jellyfish but why do I want it so badly?! Love these!

I am obsessed with jellyfish to the disgust of everyone who’s ever gone to the beach with me.

That’s okay. You can stick to traditional Spirograph!
