We’re headed off to Cherry Grove today for the holiday weekend, and I couldn’t be more excited. As much as we love where we live, there’s something distinctly liberating about getting our gay on!

In honor of our poof-filled adventure, today’s beautiful thing (besides the weekend away) is the glorious, rainbow-hued thread art of Mexico-born Gabriel Dawe. Although it’s really easy on the eyes and doesn’t appear to be especially confrontational, his work is considered somewhat daring and subversive in his home country because textiles and embroidery are considered women’s work. This seems very strange to me, because in New York, I think you could say the opposite is true!
