I first spotted Selda Okutan’s work when I was researching my Etsomnia rings post. That’s when I came across this inverted solitaire ring, which has been hanging out in my faves ever since. Her work is really innovative, and it often incorporates tiny figures crawling over and near t and interacting with the jewelry and with each other. Her pieces feel significant, meaningful, like they’re populated with the characters from an Ayn Rand novel. (But don’t let that put you off.) I love how quirky and instantly-recognizable they are.

Whatever your taste, I’m sure you’ll at least find her jewelry surprising and interesting.

  4. Love this work. I defs need the woman in the tub ring so I can remind myself to “sit with my fatigue” and stop worrying. Maybe she’ll work it out with me on an instalment plan…

  5. They’re all quite unique. The torso missing limbs, though . . . is that supposed to be a ring?
