Butterflies from Lilliput

Although I am not much of a doll fan, I do love dollhouses and minatures and all things tiny. So when I saw these miniscule adorables, I was hooked. This is the wonderful, teensy world of Etsy seller GodsFlyingFlowers. They make the littlest, most perfect butterfly replicas you’ll ever see. I want to buy them by the handfuls and stick them to everything.

Do they look too fragile for you? I thought the same. We are both wrong.

“Although a God’s Flying Flowers miniature butterfly is so delicate in appearance, it is deceptively durable, as it is designed for regular handling- much more durable than a true organic butterfly! Strategically assembled with top-quality super glue, all components are litely flexible, so they hold a definite shape without breaking or tearing; resilience and strength are the key factors in my design composition.”

The prices run from $15 to $39. And they’re customizable, too. if you don’t see your favorite breed, you can request that it be made for you!

Those are amazing. I can’t even imagine the dexterity, steadiness of hand and sharp eyesight required to make one of those.

You could put them in your hair! A little thing wire and a good bobby-pin… Gorgeous. I used to have a dollhouse and my grandmother would always take me to Sweet Eddie’s ice cream parlor on Austin Street in Queens and buy mini china animals for me.
