Paper-Cut-Project

Paper meets fashion in today’s beautiful thing. Designers Nikki Nye and Amy Flurry create beautiful sculptures, many wearable, under the name the Paper-Cut-Project. They transform plain paper into fantastical shapes and silhouettes. Their combination of high fashion and fine art has gotten them attention from publications like “The New York Times” and “Italian Vogue,” and their works have been commissioned by a number of high-profile fashion houses including Valentino, Cartier, and Hermès.

I really love the idea of paper wigs. These lovely creations have got me thinking about a Mermaid Parade float based on paper wigs and costumes. I think it would be really striking, but if it rained, we’d be toast. Soggy, soggy toast.
