What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Sit Here and Cry (‘Till You Come Back)

Aubrie Sellers Music

I’m working on a playlist for a friend’s birthday bash, and since she hails from Texas, I let myself wander into the iTunes country suggestions. What I found there has me chair dancing with abandon.

This is newcomer-to-watch, Aubrie Sellers. Her debut album, New City Blues, was only released last Friday, but it’s already getting big attention. Daughter of singer Lee Ann Womack (“I Hope You Dance”) and Jason Sellers (who has written music for Reba McEntire, Jason Aldean, and Lady Antebellum, to name a few), Aubrie is no stranger to country music, but she’s definitely found her own voice. She classifies her sound as Garage Country, and I can see what she means.

“There’s 14 songs on [my] record and only one of them is sweet.” -Aubrie Sellers

I just cannot get enough of this single. Come chair dance with me!

This is the other song of hers that will be in heavy rotation on my daily playlist until further notice. The hooks on the two songs are very, very similar, but it works anyway. This girl is good!

Thanks for sharing. Looks as though parts of the video were shot at The Continental Club in Austin, Texas. As you make your Texas playlist, may I suggest you check out Robert Earle Keene, Lyle Lovett, and of course Willie Nelson? – if you have not already. Note: Native Texan, but not responsible for any politician from the state.
