“There’s beauty in less.” -Tiny House Swoon motto

Scarlett, Welches, OR
Tiny House Swoon is a blog that showcases adorable, creative, innovative tiny houses from around the world. People can submit their own houses to be featured, and many of the listings are for sale or rent. The blog belongs to the company Tiny House Listings, on whose website you can buy, sell, or rent North American tiny houses.
As in love with all things tiny as I am, Beloved is fond of reminding me that I could never downsize enough to live in one. That doesn’t mean we couldn’t manage a vacation rental in one, though!
You can follow Tiny House Listings on their website, and you can see the Tiny House Swoon blog here and on Instagram. There’s even a mobile app!

These are so cute. I would love one for my studio.

I’ve heard that a lot of people are doing that! I have a link to inexpensive plans somewhere. I’ll look for it later and post it.

I’ll take two of the Colorado wilderness…the wilderness…not the house. The house would make a great studio however….we joke about living the rv life and about how we need a custom tiny house rv when we do that. I am just not sure my husband and I could do it.

We have come to similar conclusions. Though we did consider renting a trailer to live in while our house is being raised. We’d have to find a place to put it, and it would be a bit of a trial. We finally decided we wouldn’t be happy in anything we could afford. I’d love one as a guest house, though!

We talk about being campground hosts…living the dream! Giggle.
These would make great guest houses for sure…but then you couldn’t get rid of people! They would want to be permanent guests.

Couldn’t live in one, but sure could “play” in one.

I once said in the Costume Shop, “I need a minimum of 2000 square feet to do anything” and it has become one of our fallback statements–sewing, costume building, art–they take space. But I suspect a vacation rental in a tiny house would be extremely restorative just because it would be an escape from all of my “collections”.

I know just what you mean. I think our next vacation will actually be in a tiny house. AirBNB has tons of them, and it really does seem like a big, refreshing change of scenery.

I’ve always been fascinating by these adorable little houses! The only thing is, where do they put their *stuff*?!? I mean, I realize you’d have to downsize like a maniac, but still, there are certain things… linens? clothes? Papers? Y’know? The pics never show anything lying around. I don’t see how anyone who is not a neatnik could manage to live in one of those little things.

It’s worth watching some of the video walk-throughs. They all have ingenious hidden storage. They’re designed kind of like cruise ship staterooms. No inch is wasted. You also have to be a fiend for putting things away, or it would look like hell all the time. I wouldn’t be great at that.

There’s a lot of Gypsy-style houses on the site. I was surprised!

Like you, I could never streamline my life enough in order to live in one of these tiny houses – and I also really need personal space away from my loved ones – but I would love to vacation in one of these. They always just seem so neat and cosy.

Just as a couple, though. I can’t imagine how it would work with children. I fear not everyone would make it out alive.

Oh good grief no! Never with the children. I would go insane trapped in a tiny space with my husband and four children. Nope.

After moving and sorting through all of my father’s things lately, I would love to trash everything and downsize.

That’s a tough job. A good friend is in the throes of doing the same after the passing of her father a couple of months ago. It seems never-ending. Good luck!

I couldn’t fit my closet in one, but I really love the idea of them. I love how they use every inch of space. It’s like a puzzle!
