This charming home in Lumberland, NY, was built as a one-room schoolhouse  in 1893, a purpose it served until 1949. From 1950 through 2000, the building was used as a chapel. It was then turned into a residence and has served as a family home, a weekend retreat, a vacation rental, and is currently operating as a boutique inn.

This gorgeous building is currently for sale on Estately for a paltry $649K, and I am hoping one of you lovely people will buy it and invite me over!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to restore a find like this?

Oh my gosh, this is beautiful. Every single room is beautiful. I low-balled them, Donna. We’ll see what they come back with. 😀 ….in my dreams….

When I read the title the song “Conjunction Junction” just started singing itself in my head–then I go and find a beautiful piece of architecture which would go for double that price in Toronto. Thanks so much for sharing.

Here’s one in the heart of West Virginia. Not quite as upscale but still cool.

That was just porn for me. I wouldn’t change a thing.

How lovely! I like the fact they’ve maintained so much of the interior space and form and the patina of the wood is gorgeous. I had to find one criticism though and that’s that I don’t like the dining room chairs. So for just that reason, I’ve decided not to buy it after all.
