TaxilHoax
I found this amazing Etsy seller thanks to the bloggers at VargaMor. This is the brutally gorgeous jewelry by TaxilHoax. Inspired by history and the occult, it manages to feel at once ancient and very modern. Lola, the designer, takes inspiration – and sometimes materials – from antique and vintage objects she finds which would not normally be worn. Lola recycles and reuses much of what she finds, and her creations make really strong statements.
“For the eternal law is that there is no light without shade, no beauty without ugliness, no white without black, for the absolute can only exist as two gods; darkness being necessary for light to serve as its foil as the pedestal is necessary to the statue, and the brake to the locomotive….” -Leo Taxil
The pieces call to mind fabulous witches like Morgana from the King Arthur legend and Melisandre from “Game of Thrones,” with a little “Blair Witch Project” thrown in for color. Have fun browsing today’s striking, powerful, magical, affordable jewelry!

Beautiful, creative, unique and wearable! In a sea of Etsy mediocrity and ridiculousness, TalixHoax’s work shines. – Karen

You could dress up like Maid Marian…is that her name or is it Mariam. Hmmm…whatever…you know what I mean.

According to the all-knowing, all-seeing Wikipedia, it’s Marian.

These are great. I really like the rawness of them. They definitely have an archaic quality to them.

They’re so yummy. That bracelet is particularly toothsome. If I had a bracelet life (I don’t), I’d be all over it!
