Once again, my hilarious friends delivered something awesome on my Facebook feed. These are iconic music videos without the music. The original sound is stripped out, then the clever parody-makers add in their own foley, half-re-sung lyrics, and background noise. The costume noises in particular had me rolling on the floor. I’ve listed my favorite first, but they’re all brilliant! (Thanks Jim H!)
They even did my fave!
There are also movie scenes…
And speeches without the speechifying!

These are awesome! When I was 8 or 9, I quite fancied the idea of being a foley artist. Clearly I dudb

Flub…. Anyway, as I was saying…. Clearly I didn’t become one but it led to a lifelong obsession with listening for the sound effects created by foley artists. So what I love about these videos is how they foreground the skill of the foley artists. Wasn’t Happy without the music very melancholy? And the Trump one was so much more awkward and uncomfortable than I thought possible since I thought Trump was already at his peak for that. My favourite element though and the thing that had me giggling was the PVC squeaking of Britney Spears and Gaga. So funny.

God, that Britney one killed me. You’re right, though. The tone of some of them was changed utterly without the music.
