What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Four Minutes of Spring

Although it’s technically been spring since March 20, there hasn’t yet been much sign of that most hopeful of seasons in New York City. Winter coats still abound, and we feel like we haven’t seen the sun in months. So since Beloved and I are dragging ourselves around in a grey fug, I thought maybe we could all use a little injection of springtime.

Here is a gorgeous time-lapse video I found on the National Geographic YouTube channel (a great place to poke around if you’re feeling low, by the way). The video credits appear at the bottom of this post. I just really needed to get on with the springy stuff!

“Visual effects artist and filmmaker Jamie Scott spent three years shooting the stunning springtime imagery in this continuous motion time-lapse.”

Donna, we’re having similar problems on the French Cote d’Azur. We’ve had some sun but 4 times more rain in March than usual!

What a truly spectacular video…thanks for giving me a shot of greenery today!

It’s been an unbearably long and harsh winter here in Minnesota. We’ve had one blizzard and one standard snowstorm since April 1st, and there’s another snowstorm predicted this weekend. The ground is still covered in 5″ of the white stuff. It was so cold yesterday my son and I had to wear facemasks and snow pants at the bus stop (ridiculous for mid april!). I have a little embroidered piece that says, “no winter lasts forever, no spring skips its turn”…clearly that doesn’t apply this year. 😦

I just love time-lapse. The only thing we can actually “watch” grow is Kudzu. Thanks to very talented people with a camera we can have Spring on recall.

The video was beautiful and very well “choreographed”. Let us hope that proper Spring is just around the corner.

so beautiful! my daffodils finally bloomed…but we’re going to have lows in the 20s for the next couple of nights. after such a cold spring, it’ll probably suddenly be 85 one day soon.
