What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

While Golluming around Instagram the other day, one of my favorite hashtags delivered an oldie but goodie. Today, we are going to explore the magnificent, over-the-top world that is Sotheby’s jewelry department.

Widely accepted as the most prestigious auction house in the world, Sotheby’s doesn’t need an introduction. And their social media isn’t just filled with pretty pictures. There are some amazing stories, too. Check this out!

You can see all of the jaw-dropping goodies auctioned by Sotheby’s in their Jewelry department, AND you can even buy some of their pieces without waiting for an auction on their Buy Now Jewelry page. Or if, like me, your budget is Claire’s Accessories not Cartier, more beers than De Beers, closer to Cracker Jack than Chopard, you can just peruse their Instagram and drool. You’ll be in good company.

What a wonderfully glam and sparkly rabbit hole to fall down.

If somebody on this list can afford to buy some of these, can you lend me 100k? I will sign the legal paperwork that I will pay it back in twenty years. YES, all of them are beautiful and I would love to have even the cheapest one. Hal

I don’t even want to have them. (I’m just imagining what would happen to me if I wore them on my daily subway ride. There’d be nothing left of me but the eyelashes.) I just want to see them in person…

Nothing like these in my box. They are beautiful …just way out of my range.

That’s the fun of it. They’re out of everyone’s range. I have probably told this story before. My mother and I used to love to go browse at Tiffany’s on Fifth Avenue. We would try on all kinds of fabulous things, but before we went in, she would always remind me, “Just remember, it’s like a museum with price tags. We’re not taking any of it home.” As a result, museums have been a constant disappointment to me. Where are the price tags?
