Note: Beverly, dear, I know this is not your thing. You are excused. Why not go check out my last floral Etsomnia™ post instead?
A co-owner of Golden Iron Tattoo Studio in Toronto, the amazing Stella Luo is a true artist, creating (and re-creating) gorgeous, lush botanicals on her clients’ skin. (Though I’m sure there are those out there who would disagree…) I find her work to be classy and classic. I would be obsessed with these works of art even if they were just on paper, but to get them to look this realistic on skin seems like magic. It’s hard to believe, but the artist is self taught!
“I knew from a very early stage in my life that I would somehow make a living through art, but was unsure of how to go about it. My older siblings started getting tattoos; which then intrigued my curiosity to learn everything I could about the craft. I was blown away with the art, talent and breathtaking imagery that was being printed onto peoples’ skin and the essence of trust that essentially came with the process. The industry is constantly pushing the boundaries of tattooing each and everyday; and that is a force that I knew I wanted to be a part of.”

While I don’t have any tattoos, I do admire the artistry and skill involved. Skin must be an incredibly difficult substrate to work on. These particular tattoos are beautifully done. The way the colours seem to glow like the way sunlight makes the colour of flowers even more emphatic is really a marvel.
