Chilean-born photographer Gabriel Guerrero Caroca appeared on Instagram 8 years ago. The mysterious photographer has created some beautiful images through his black and white photography. Caroca’s striking use of low light and method of sometimes strategically-placing objects in the foreground elevate his already lovely subjects to a whole new level.
I wasn’t able to discover anything else about the photographer (except that he’s in the band known as Spoilt, and his music is a lot less inspiring than his photography). His photos seem like stills from wonderfully-creepy movies. Whatever the dark fantasies in his photos mean, they’ve certainly inspired him to create truly lovely-if-haunting images.

I like the aesthetic of the grainy monochrome and the intrigue of many of the images. They feel like illustrations from a wider narrative.
