5/22/16: Years ago, shortly after we got our first Tivo, Beloved and I were watching the first episode of Two and a Half Men, and at the end, we caught sight of something odd among the credits. We hit rewind and paused and read. It was the vanity card below -my first – and I was absolutely captivated. Here was the beginning of a personal story, a little insight into the brain of my idol, creator Chuck Lorre. (Lorre, in the event that you don’t already know, has been responsible for creating amazing shows including Grace Under Fire, Dharma & Greg, Mike & Molly, and our favorite comedy of all time, The Big Bang Theory. So if you’re interested in television comedy writing, he’s really THE guy to follow.)

When I realized it was #108, I was heartbroken, thinking I’d missed so many. But then I discovered that the previous 107 were available on Chuck Lorre’s website. I was over the moon! I binge read them all, and I have been back for more periodically over the years. Then I kind of forgot about them. Last night, we were watching Mom (again on Tivo), and there it was again, the Chuck Lorre Vanity Card. I’m so glad I have again been reminded how much I loved the glimpses into his world. I’m really looking forward to catching up with my guy Chuck.

My husband and I have seen every episode of The Big Bang Theory and never noticed these vanity cards.

They go by so quickly, you really have to be a glad hand with a remote control to catch them.
